Come join us this Thursday, Feb. 26th for our annual Committee Drive! We will be having a open house at the Depot from 4-6pm.
Each year, the National Main Street Center and its partners announce the list of accredited Main Street® programs that have built strong revitalization organizations and demonstrate their ability in using the Main Street Four Point Approach® methodology for strengthening their local economy and protecting their historic buildings of which Prosser’s HDPA is a part of.
The four points are:
Design – getting the Downtown into top physical shape and creating a safe, inviting environment for shoppers, workers and visitors.
Promotion –create an image that will rekindle community pride and improve consumer and investor confidence in the Downtown. Advertising, retail promotions, special events and marketing campaigns help sell the image and would fall into this committee.
Organization – establishes consensus and cooperation by building partnerships among various groups that have a stake in the Downtown.
Economic Restructuring – works to strengthen the community’s existing economic assets while diversifying its economic base.
HDPA also has other opportunities for volunteering. There are numerous events throughout the year where volunteers are needed. First Fridays, Autumn Nights (fundraiser), Annual Meeting, Watering Campaign, Streetscapes Car Show, Scarecrow Contest and the ever popular Snowman Contest all need volunteers from the community.
We look forward to seeing you all and for an exciting, successful 2016.
