🌸 Help Keep Downtown Prosser Blooming – Volunteer to Water the Flowers! 🌸
From May through early October, we need friendly volunteers to help water the beautiful flowers that brighten up Historic Downtown Prosser. Each shift takes about 1 hour, with a team of two people driving our watering truck along a simple route to ensure the large planters stay healthy and vibrant, even in the summer heat.
This is a fun and easy way for families, community groups, or local businesses to give back and make a visible difference in our town. Whether you can help once a week, once a month, or just once, every volunteer matters and is truly appreciated!
💧 No special experience needed – we’ll show you everything you need to know. 🌻 Sign up today and be part of keeping Prosser beautiful all summer long!

As we gear up for a busy weekend, September 26th –28th with HDP’s Caren Mercer-Andreasen Street Painting Festival, the Chamber’s Harvest Festival, and the Great Prosser Balloon Rally, let’s roll up our sleeves and give downtown a good cleanup!
We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand whether it’s for a few minutes or a few hours to help spruce up our downtown core. Our focus will be on sweeping sidewalks, pulling weeds, wiping down benches and trash cans, and clearing cobwebs from buildings, awnings, and windows. We’ll provide the supplies, you just bring your gloves, a little elbow grease, and a community spirit!
Now Seeking Board Members for 2025 Elections
Historic Downtown Prosser is preparing for upcoming elections to fill open positions on the Board of Directors. Board members are dedicated community volunteers passionate about shaping downtown Prosser's future. The board’s mission includes preserving the town’s history and charm, supporting local businesses, strengthening the local economy, and fostering a thriving downtown district. This vital work is done through four active committees aligned with the nationally recognized Main Street Four-Point Approach.
- Outreach involves building an active Main Street team and recruiting strong advocates. This committee oversees our volunteer team and examines our sponsorships and funding sources.
- Promotion generates excitement and social vibrancy in the downtown through activities and events.
- Design enhances downtown's aesthetic appeal and feel by incorporating existing historic buildings, landscaping, signage, lighting, and other streetscape improvements. This committee works with our façade improvement grant program.
- Economic Vitality strengthens small businesses, promotes economic development, and provides downtown merchants with tools and resources to help them succeed.
Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings held on the second Monday of each month at 12:00 PM and actively participate in at least one of the organization’s four committees. Each fall, we host an annual board retreat on a Saturday, and board members are required to attend. Additional events throughout the year. Board members also support the organization by volunteering at community events and activities. Terms are three years long, with members eligible to serve up to two consecutive terms.
