Chalk art festival downtown that was started by local artist, Caren Mercer-Andreasen, who valued the importance of art. The fun weekend of creativity coincides with the Chamber’s Harvest Festival and the annual Hot Air Balloon Rally. Several professional artists participate in larger contributions and are a joy to watch work on their creations. Smaller squares are available for purchase for anyone who would like to share their creativity with the community. Sponsorships are welcome and help pay for the professional artists as well as enable scholarships to be given to area children. There is a community square designed by local art teacher, Kila Salyers-Smith that anyone can participate in completing.
