Artist Spotlight – Bev Beierle

As part of the beautification and visioning projects in Historic Downtown Prosser we’ve purchased 11 fiberglass ponies to be painted by local artists and placed throughout our historic downtown corridor. These ponies have been sponsored by local businesses, organizations and individuals.

We’d like to introduce you to the artists involved in this exciting project!

What I like best about painting is that I usually paint with friends which is a great way to relax, visit, and be creative. I really didn’t get serious about painting until a little over three years ago when I started doing painting parties at wineries, for birthday parties, fundraisers, and other special events. My company name is Brush On! What drew me to this project was Historic Downtown Prosser needing another artist. Quite recently, an artist had to cancel so Jesalyn called me and I couldn’t turn her down. What I’ve learned from this is that I must remain flexible (which is usually standard when designing for someone else). What I envisioned for the theme was not even close to what the the clients wanted, so I adapted and I hope they are pleased with my efforts!

Besides doing painting parties for adults and children, I also teach K-12 Art at HomeLink for the Richland School District. No matter the age of the student, it is such a joy to see how happy they are when their paintings and other works of art are finished. I am also kept extremely busy with my son’s activities as he is participates in Prosser High School’s Swim Team, Band, Choir, Track, and youth group at our church.
