Artist Spotlight – Mikaila Bardessono

As part of the beautification and visioning projects in Historic Downtown Prosser we’ve purchased 11 fiberglass ponies to be painted by local artists and placed throughout our historic downtown corridor. These ponies have been sponsored by local businesses, organizations and individuals.

We’d like to introduce you to the artists involved in this exciting project!

I started to draw and paint when I was around 3 years old. Art has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing. I love it! My favorite part about painting is how you can make so many different colors by blending and it just makes a blank canvas come alive. When I first heard about this project, I was really excited because I had never painted a sculpture before and I was ready for the challenge. Although my art takes a long time to create, I really try to put all my effort into each of my pieces.

It was a privilege to be able to participate in the Caren Mercer-Andreasen Street Painting Festival for the past three years.

I currently don’t display or sell my art anywhere, but I would like to in the future.

Be sure to get your tickets for the pony unveiling on February 8th.
